Forest Minister Mr. Kashyap Inspects Minor Forest Produce Processing Center
Processing unit being established on 110 acres in Jamgaon (M), Durg district
Raipur : Chhattisgarh’s Forest Minister, Mr. Kedar Kashyap, conducted an inspection today of the Central Processing Unit for minor forest produce being set up in Jamgaon (M), under the Patan development block of Durg district. He reviewed the progress of ongoing works and directed officials to ensure that high-quality construction is completed within the stipulated timeframe. Member of Parliament Mr. Vijay Baghel and representatives from the district and Janpad Panchayat were also present during the visit.
The processing unit, being developed at a cost of approximately ₹23 crore, is spread across 110 acres and will house various facilities for the processing of minor forest produce.
During the visit, Forest Minister Mr. Kashyap gathered information about the types of products that will be processed at the facility, the storage of forest produce and millets in warehouses, and the distribution process post-processing. He also encouraged local representatives to promote tree plantation within the premises by planting saplings in the name of “Mother Tree” as a symbolic initiative.
Also present at the site were Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Mr. Chandrashekhar Pardeshi, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Mr. Lovkesh Dhruv, other departmental officers, and local public representatives.
