CM Yuva Scheme sees massive response with over 2,500 daily applications for 67 days
Lucknow : In line with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision, the youth of Uttar Pradesh are no longer just seeking jobs—they are emerging as job creators. Data from the MSME department strongly supports this transformation.
Launched on January 24, on the occasion of UP Day, the Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan is proving to be a massive success. In just 67 days, the campaign for self-employment has received a record-breaking 2,07,158 applications, averaging more than 2,500 applications per day — a clear testament to the growing entrepreneurial spirit among the state’s youth.
Under CM Yogi’s Mission Rozgar, the MSME department effectively translates this vision into ground-level action. Of the applications received under the CM YUVA, 1,66,522 have already been forwarded to banks. So far, 44,521 applications have been approved, and 30,595 youth have secured loans to launch their ventures. Additionally, loans worth more than Rs 1200 crore have been distributed.
Alok Kumar, Principal Secretary of the Department of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises, described the initiative as CM Yogi’s dream project. He noted that continuous coordination with banks is ensured from the government level to maintain transparency and prevent file backlogs. Beyond financial support, the department also provides crucial services such as technical training, marketing support, and mentorship to boost the success of these enterprises.
This scheme is fast becoming a cornerstone in realizing CM Yogi’s broader vision of “Uttar Pradesh playing a leading role in building a new India.” From villages to cities, youth across the state are launching their businesses, fostering a culture of entrepreneurship and generating employment.
The government aims to scale up the campaign further and set new benchmarks in 2025–26.
As of March 31, 2025, 1,78,662 applications were received for the 2024–25 year, surpassing the annual target of 1 lakh. Of these, 1,44,273 were forwarded to banks, 40,492 applications were approved, and 28,471 youth received loans for self-employment. During this period, the department approved over Rs 113 crore in margin money, significantly enhancing the financial strength of young entrepreneurs.
In the new financial year 2025–26, as of April 18, 28,496 applications have already been received. Of these, 22,249 have been sent to banks, 4,029 have been approved, and 2,124 beneficiaries have received funds. Within this brief span, around Rs 9 crore in margin money has been sanctioned — a reflection of the government’s agility and the enthusiastic response from the youth.
