India Counters Pakistan’s Military Escalation with Precision Strikes

New Delhi – India on Saturday declared that it has successfully countered Pakistan’s latest wave of provocations, which included the use of drones, long-range weapons, and fighter jets aimed at both civilian and military targets along the western border. The situation has intensified as Pakistan reportedly moves its troops closer to the front lines, indicating potential offensive intentions.

Despite growing tensions, India reiterated its desire to avoid further escalation. At a special media briefing, Colonel Sofiya Qureshi, spokesperson for the Indian military, emphasized that the Indian Armed Forces remain in a state of high operational readiness and are committed to de-escalation—provided Pakistan reciprocates.

She was joined by Wing Commander Vyomika Singh and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, who underlined that India’s responses have been “measured” in nature, despite Pakistan’s aggressive targeting of civilian infrastructure in Jammu & Kashmir and Punjab.

“Pakistan launched a cowardly attack on a medical center and a school facility located within the air bases at Srinagar, Awantipora, and Udhampur,” Qureshi stated. “They also fired several high-speed missiles at airbases in Punjab after 1:40 am, causing limited damage.”

In response, India launched calibrated and precision attacks on clearly identified military targets in Pakistan. These included airbases at Rafiqui, Murid, Chaklala, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, and Chunian. Qureshi explained that these strikes, conducted by Indian fighter jets using air-launched precision weapons, primarily targeted command and control centers, radar stations, and weapon storage facilities.

Radar sites in Pasrur and the Sialkot aviation base were also hit. Qureshi emphasized that India was careful to avoid collateral damage during these operations.

Wing Commander Singh described how Pakistan has continued to act provocatively, employing various weapons systems, including combat drones, loitering munitions, and fighter aircraft. Several air intrusions using drones were reported, along with heavy-calibre shelling across the Line of Control (LoC).

According to Singh, Pakistani forces attempted harassment attacks at over 26 locations, from Srinagar to Naliya, along both the LoC and the International Border. Although India neutralized the majority of these threats, some limited damage occurred at Indian Air Force stations in Udhampur, Pathankot, Adampur, and Bhuj.

She also dismissed Pakistan’s attempts at spreading misinformation. “There were false claims of destroying India’s S-400 system at Adampur, airfields at Suratgarh and Sirsa, the BrahMos base at Nagrota, and artillery positions at Dehrangyari and the Chandigarh Forward Ammunition Depot. These are entirely baseless,” Singh clarified.

To support her statement, Singh presented images of Indian air force stations, including Suratgarh and Sirsa, showing intact runways and routine activity—evidence that contradicted Pakistan’s claims.

Colonel Qureshi further noted that Pakistan had attempted multiple air intrusions using drones and conducted heavy artillery shelling along the LoC, resulting in civilian casualties. In response, the Indian Army engaged in proportional counter-attacks, inflicting heavy damage on Pakistani forces.

Intense exchanges of artillery and small arms fire are ongoing in several sectors including Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch, Rajouri, and Akhnoor, she said. Indian troops have responded with forceful and precise action, making it clear that while India seeks peace, it will not tolerate threats to its people or sovereignty.

As tensions remain high, both countries face increasing international concern over the potential for a broader military conflict. However, India has made it clear that it will not escalate unless provoked further, and its actions remain within the bounds of military restraint and national defense.
