Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan Interacts Directly with BeneficiariesFishermen’s Committee and Farmers Appreciated

Raipur : As the chief guest at the “Mor Awas Mor Adhikar” (My Home, My Right) programme held today in Ambikapur, Union Minister for Rural Development and Agriculture Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited beneficiary-centric exhibitions and engaged in direct conversations with the beneficiaries.

During the event, he interacted with Kripa Shankar Singh, a member of the Bardamali Tribal Fishermen’s Committee, and inquired about their income and facilities. Kripa Shankar informed the minister that the committee comprises 45 members and that each member earns around ₹50,000 to ₹60,000 per year. He also shared that he received a fishing net under the subsidy scheme at a cost of only ₹10,000.

At the Agriculture Department’s exhibition, Minister Chouhan spoke with farmer Brij Kumar, who shared that he received an agriculture pump worth ₹23,000 for just ₹15,000, saving ₹8,000 through the scheme.

Both Kripa Shankar and Brij Kumar expressed their happiness, saying that this was the first time they had the opportunity to speak directly with a Union Minister, which was a moment of pride for them. They added that the schemes run by the Central and State Governments are truly reaching the grassroots level and are bringing positive changes to people’s lives.
