Maharashtra CM – Majhi Ladki Bahin’ Scheme Should Be Effectively Implemented at the District Level

Mumbai : Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare has directed the organization of special camps at the taluka level to ensure the effective implementation of the ‘Chief Minister – Majhi Ladki Bahin’ scheme at the district level.

Minister Tatkare stated that the scheme aims to improve women’s health and nutrition in the state while promoting economic independence and strengthening their role in the family. Instructions have been given for the Collector to pay special attention to ensure every eligible woman benefits from the scheme.

To manage the rush for name registration and applications, the deadline has been extended to August 31, 2024. Eligible women will receive Rs 1,500 per month, totaling Rs 18,000 per year. A provision of Rs 46,000 crore has been allocated for this purpose.

Women should not need to queue for name registration, and planning should ensure that sisters are not obstructed for any reason, said Minister Tatkare. She also emphasized that no money should be demanded for providing documents related to the scheme or for filling out forms.
