‘Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan in Jodhpur District Achieves Resounding Success’

Over 1,585 Farmers Learn About New Agricultural Technologies in Friday’s Camps

Jaipur – As part of the pre-Kharif Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan, extensive farmer awareness programs are being conducted across selected villages of Jodhpur district under the guidance of the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Government of India. On Friday alone, more than 1,585 farmers actively participated in the campaign and gained valuable insights into advanced agricultural techniques, integrated farming systems, water conservation methods, and the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY).

Joint Director of Agriculture Extension in Jodhpur, Mr. Satyanarayan Garhwal, and Principal Scientist & Chairman of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Jodhpur, Dr. Bhagwat Singh Rathore, informed that on the second day of the campaign, programs were successfully conducted across eight Gram Panchayats: Bawarli, Belwa Khatriyan, Kaparda, Bhavi, Bala, Khedi Salwa, Devtra, and Bhopalgarh.

Direct Engagement with Farmers

Dr. G.R. Matoria, Additional Director of Agriculture Extension, visited Bawarli village in Balesar block to interact directly with farmers. He emphasized the importance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Lab to Land” initiative, urging farmers to adopt the latest agricultural research and innovations. He highlighted that science-based farming will be the key to securing farmers’ prosperity in the future.

Expert Insights from Agriculture, Horticulture, and Research Institutions

Three technical teams consisting of agriculture experts and officials actively participated in the programs. Prominent members included Mr. R.R. Meghwal, Ms. A. Monica, and Ms. Chandana M.R. from Krishi Vigyan Kendra; Dr. Kuldeep Jadon from CAZRI; Ms. Kirti Rani, Agricultural Scientist; Dr. Vinod Kumar Verma from the Horticulture Department; and Assistant Agriculture Officers Mr. Manohar Singh, Mr. Opa Ram Vishnoi, Mr. Mahendra Ram, and Mr. Vardha Ram Meghwal, among others.

The presence of local public representatives in various Gram Panchayats added further motivation to the campaign. They urged rural farmers to embrace innovation in agriculture through active participation in such initiatives.

Next Phase Scheduled for 31 May in Nine Gram Panchayats

In the next phase on 31 May, three technical teams will reach the following Gram Panchayats:

  • Team 1 (Balesar Panchayat Samiti): Dugar, Agolai, Dhandhaniya Sanso
  • Team 2 (Bilara Panchayat Samiti): Chandelav, Olvi, Sindi Nagar
  • Team 3 (Dhawar Panchayat Samiti): Bhandoo Khurd, Bhandoo Kalan, Feench

During these upcoming sessions, experts will provide practical and useful information to farmers on key topics such as the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, water conservation techniques, selection of high-yield seeds, and integrated farming systems.
