Over 2.49 Lakh Farmers Participate in ‘Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan 2025’

Lucknow – In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to make India a developed nation by 2047 and to achieve self-reliance, agriculture is seen as a crucial sector. To increase both agricultural productivity and farmers’ income, the ‘Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan 2025’ is being implemented across the country. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath aims to connect 50 lakh farmers in Uttar Pradesh with the latest agricultural research and beneficial government schemes under the “Lab to Land” initiative. So far, over 2.49 lakh farmers have participated in this campaign.

As part of a nationwide goal to connect 1.5 crore farmers, Uttar Pradesh has set a target of reaching 50 lakh farmers through 10,125 programs across 75 districts. Each district will conduct nine programs per day, resulting in 135 locations per district over 15 days where farmer-scientist interactions will be held. The campaign was launched on May 29 by CM Yogi Adityanath at Lok Bhavan and will continue until June 12, 2025 to maximize outreach and farmer participation.

Agriculture Minister Attends Programs in Deoria and Gorakhpur

On Sunday, Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi attended the event at Amkaul village in Sardar Nagar block, Gorakhpur. Local representatives, joint and deputy agriculture directors, scientists from Narendra Dev Agriculture University (Ayodhya), and experts from Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Gorakhpur, engaged with farmers. Later, the Minister also attended a similar event in Bajarhiya village, Pathardeva block of Deoria district, where KVK Deoria scientists and officials shared information on various schemes.

Union Minister Jitin Prasada Joins Event in Pilibhit

Union Minister and Pilibhit MP Jitin Prasada participated in events under the campaign at Sundarpur village, Marauri block, and Daulatpur Patti village, Barkhera block in Pilibhit district, encouraging farmers. Local MLA and other dignitaries were also present.

Anupriya Patel in Chhanvey, Mirzapur

Union Minister and Mirzapur MP Anupriya Patel attended the event at Kodniya (Deori) village in Chhanvey block. Scientists from the Indian Institute of Vegetable Research, Varanasi, and KVK Mirzapur, along with agriculture officers, discussed the latest techniques in farming with local farmers.

State Minister Baldev Singh Aulakh in Rampur

Uttar Pradesh Agriculture State Minister Baldev Singh Aulakh participated in a farmer-scientist interaction in Padpuri village, Bilaspur block, Rampur. The session focused on improved farming practices and was attended by senior agricultural officers including Jagdish Chandra Bhatt. Similar programs were held in Sultanpur and Bhadohi with active participation from local MLAs and directors of key research institutions.

Discussions Held in 2,025 Locations

Across 75 districts of the state, events were organized at 2,025 locations, involving public representatives, agricultural scientists, and departmental officials. Topics covered included horticulture, crop protection, direct seeding of paddy, seed treatment, soil testing, low-cost farming, balanced fertilizer use, industrial crops, fodder production, disease prevention, crop insurance, sericulture, beekeeping, organic/natural farming, land conservation, tree planting, goat farming, rejuvenation of old orchards, food processing, and marketing strategies.

Farmers’ Issues Addressed in Detail

Farmers’ individual concerns and challenges were also discussed, and they were assured of solutions. As of now, 2,49,878 farmers have participated. The increasing enthusiasm among farmers suggests that participation will continue to rise in the coming days.

Union Agriculture Minister to Visit Meerut on Sunday

On Sunday, June 2, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and State Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi will be present in Dabathua village, Sururpur block, Meerut from 3 PM to 6 PM. To ensure smooth execution of the campaign, 38 senior officials have been assigned by the Agriculture Directorate to oversee activities in two districts each on June 1, 7, and 8.
