CM Dhami Chairs High-Level Review Meeting in Nainital, Vows Zero Tolerance on Corruption and Greater Accountability
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday chaired a high-level divisional review meeting in Nainital with senior officials and public representatives from all six districts of the Kumaon division—Nainital, Almora, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Champawat, and Udham Singh Nagar. In a strong and clear message, he declared, “There will be no place for corruption anymore—accountability will be fixed at every level.”
The CM reviewed ongoing central and state government schemes in the division and emphasized the importance of close coordination between public representatives and officials to resolve public issues effectively. He urged them to hold Janata Durbars and village-level Chaupals to reach out directly to citizens, ensuring that even the most remote individual can benefit from government welfare programs. He reiterated the government’s commitment to eliminating corruption, highlighting the active use of helpline number 1064 for reporting graft.
CM Dhami directed district officials to ensure they are available in their offices between 10 AM and 1 PM so that people coming from distant areas can meet them easily. He insisted on the timely and quality completion of all construction works and warned that delays or substandard execution would invite strict action against the responsible officials.
Reviewing the Jamrani Dam Project, the Chief Minister informed that the rehabilitation package has been approved and master planning is complete. Construction of the main dam will begin before the monsoon. This project is expected to significantly boost irrigation capacity for both Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.
He also directed that the revival of Sukha Tal Lake in Nainital be accelerated. The project is being implemented under the Namami Gange scheme by the Drinking Water Department, with a total outlay of ₹29.16 crore for conservation and beautification.
Discussing comprehensive development at Kainchi Dham, CM Dhami instructed that all essential facilities be given priority. Under the Manaskhand Mandir Mala scheme, beautification and lighting work worth ₹28.15 crore at Kainchi Dham is progressing well.
He shared updates on the Almora Medical College, stating that planning is underway, and added that the budget for Pithoragarh Medical College has been doubled. Ensuring advanced facilities in border areas remains a top priority of the state government.
The Chief Minister reiterated that corruption at any level will not be tolerated. Acting on a complaint under the Jal Jeevan Mission in Udham Singh Nagar, he ordered the suspension of Superintending Engineer Shivam Dwivedi in Kashipur. He instructed all officials to conduct regular public hearings, adopt solution-based governance, and resolve local issues on the spot through camps.
He added that the state’s vigilance mechanism is being strengthened and made more active, with the government now poised to intervene directly and decisively in corruption cases. Any official found guilty will face strict punishment—but only after a fair hearing and the opportunity to provide clarification.
Concluding the meeting, CM Dhami said, “Fulfilling the aspirations of the people is our topmost priority.” Uttarakhand has already established itself as a leading state in several sectors, and efforts will now be made to ensure top rankings in all other fields as well.
