MLA Pu Jeje Lalpekhlua Visits Rainstorm-Affected Areas in Hnahthial
Hnahthial : South Tuipui MLA Pu Jeje Lalpekhlua visited several locations across Hnahthial town on June 4 to assess the damages caused by the recent severe rainstorm. He visited homes and sites affected by landslides and flooding, interacting with residents and evaluating the extent of the destruction. In some cases where families had to vacate their homes, he provided financial assistance to help with temporary relocation or essential needs.
During his visit, Pu Jeje Lalpekhlua stopped at various affected locations including:
- The residence of Pu Kaphrima and Pi LP Lallianpuii in the Electric Veng area, where damages were caused due to proximity to the bypass road;
- The home of Pi Rebek Laldinpuii and Pu Lalduhawma in Kanaan Veng, affected due to soil erosion;
- And several households near the Bazar Veng area, where homes were at risk due to saturated ground and heavy rainfall.
He assured the residents that the government is taking appropriate steps to extend assistance and support to those in need. Coordination with government officials is already underway, and further interventions are being planned. Emphasizing the seriousness of the situation, he stated that the state government will continue to respond actively to all cases of damage caused by natural calamities.
MLA Jeje Lalpekhlua was accompanied by Pu R. Vanlalruata (SDC) and other community leaders during the visit.
