Ethanol-powered aircraft, Ipanema 203, steals the show at the Bahia Farm Show, 2025.

Ipanema 203 aircraft is a pioneer in the use of biofuel and a sales leader with approximately 60% share of the agricultural aviation market. It has exhibited itself as the top-selling crop-duster in the Brazilian agricultural aviation market, during the 19th edition of the Bahia Farm Show, taking place between June 9 and 14 in Luís Eduardo Magalhães (BA). With more than 20 years of operation powered by 100% ethanol, the aircraft combines technology with robustness, high productivity with precision, and still maintains low operational costs.

Embraer promotes safety initiatives in agricultural aviation and reinforces its presence at the Bahia Farm Show, one of Brazil’s main agricultural fairs, is a great opportunity for Embraer to strengthen the presence of their aircraft in a region known for its diverse types of crops, where producers are looking for the best solutions to achieve maximum productivity at the lowest production cost. The same was reaffirmed by Sany Onofre, Embraer’s Agricultural Aviation leader.

With more than 180 units sold in the last three years, the aircraft continues to be preferred by rural producers and offers a wide range of equipment aimed at boosting productivity and precision with sustainability. With an efficiency equivalent to four large ground sprayers operating at the same time, the ethanol-powered aircraft sprays more than 200 hectares per hour, delivering a high-quality application without kneading the soil or spreading pests by contact, generating a result for the field of up to 15 bags more per hectare.

In addition to participating in the Bahia Farm Show with the Ipanema 203, Embraer has also been promoting operational safety during the events, with an intense agenda of initiatives in the field dealing with topics such as preventive inspections, a safe environment, and good practices for pilots, mechanics and operators. Currently, 100% of agricultural pilot training classes in Brazil include a lecture from the Ipanema customer support team, ensuring that a strong safety culture is instilled from the start of an agricultural pilot’s professional life.

The Bahia Farm Show had commenced in the year 2004 with a mission to position Western Bahia in a hub of large companies, producers, and entrepreneurs. It has been a reference for international opportunities ever since. The show became the place to make important decisions which directly affect the sector. The Fair is a much improved fair that welcomes large companies, institutions and politicians from the federal, state, and local governments in Brazil. The Bahia farm show is designed to grow each year. It aims to create more business opportunities for the exhibitors, increase the visibility of their brands, and offer a variety of options for our visitors. This includes lectures, workshops, training and a networking environment.
