Free Mobile Health Services Launched in Nagpur Under CM Devendra Fadnavis’ Initiative
Over Two Lakh Citizens to Benefit from Primary Healthcare Under CSR Initiative
Mumbai : Under the guidance of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, a reassuring healthcare initiative has been launched to serve the underserved areas of Nagpur city. As part of this program, a tripartite agreement has been signed between Sanofi India Ltd., Nagpur Municipal Corporation, and the Piramal Swasthya Management and Research Institute (PSMRI), leading to the deployment of two Mobile Medical Units (MMUs).
This initiative is being implemented under Sanofi’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. Through this, approximately two lakh citizens over the age of 30 in Nagpur will receive free primary healthcare services. The main objective of the mobile units is early diagnosis and appropriate referrals for non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and oral cancer, ensuring timely treatment or hospital services when required.
The MMUs are actively operating across several areas in the city including Azad Colony, Bada Taj, BD Peth, Binaki, Chhota Jaat, Dhanteshwari Nagar, Dharampeth, Dr. Ambedkar Nagar, Ekatmata Nagar, Gittikhadan, Gopal Nagar, Jaitala, Jayanti Nagar, Mahatma Phule Chowk, Nandanvan, Pachpaoli, and others. These services consistently reach urban poor and underprivileged communities. Additionally, the initiative includes public awareness on health, lifestyle improvement guidance, and de-addiction counselling services.
Aligned with the State Government’s ‘Health for All’ Vision
This initiative aligns with the Maharashtra government’s goal of delivering inclusive and accessible healthcare to all. The effective implementation of these services has been made possible with the support of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation. Plans are underway for deeper collaboration with the state government to further expand this initiative in the future.
