Mizoram Governor and Lady Governor Participate in Green Mizoram Day, 2025 by Planting State Tree Herhse
Aizawl : Raj Bhavan this morning joined the statewide observation of Green Mizoram Day, 2025 with great enthusiasm. In this occasion, Mizoram Governor, General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh, PVSM, AVSM, YSM (Retd) and Lady Governor, Pi Bharti Singh, actively participated by planting the state tree, Herhse, at the Upper Lawn of Raj Bhavan.

In his address, Governor General (Dr) Vijay Kumar Singh (Retd) expressed his gratitude to the Environment, Forest & Climate Change (EF&CC) Department for their commendable efforts in organizing Green Mizoram Day 2025 at Raj Bhavan. He also acknowledged the contributions of all participants. Highlighting Mizoram’s renowned greenery and rich biodiversity, the Governor emphasized the urgent need for intensified afforestation efforts in light of the escalating global climate change crisis. He extended his appreciation to those observing Green Mizoram Day across the state and urged the people of Mizoram to actively engage in tree planting and conservation initiatives to the best of their abilities.
The event at Raj Bhavan was attended by Pu Ajit Roy, Secretary to the Governor; Pi Arti Choudhary, Chief Conservator of Forests; Pu Lalnunsanga Khawlhring, Divisional Forest Officer, Aizawl Forest Division, along with officials from Raj Bhavan and the EF&CC Department.
