Orange Alert Issued for Ratnagiri, Pune Ghat, Satara Ghat, Kolhapur Ghat, and Sindhudurg Districts for the Next 24 Hours
Mumbai : According to forecasts from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), an orange alert has been issued for Ratnagiri, Pune Ghat, Satara Ghat, Kolhapur Ghat, and Sindhudurg districts for the next 24 hours due to heavy rain warnings.
In the past 24 hours (until the morning of June 17, 2025), the Mumbai Suburban district received 83.4 mm of rainfall, followed by Thane with 73.7 mm, Mumbai City 62.9 mm, Raigad 54.1 mm, and Palghar 49.7 mm.

The Jagbudi River in Ratnagiri district has reached the warning level. The district administration has issued alerts urging residents to remain cautious.
In Ratnagiri, cracks have developed over a 100-meter stretch on the Mumbai-Goa highway near Valanjwadi in Khed Taluka, causing traffic to be diverted to a single lane.
In Satara district, a diversion road constructed on the Patan-Chiplun National Highway has become submerged and damaged, resulting in a complete halt to traffic. Two-wheeler and four-wheeler vehicles are being rerouted via Nerle–Mangav–Maneri–Chafe–Sangamnagar Dhakka–Koynanagar.
In the Mumbai Suburban district, one person drowned and another died after being trapped under debris. Additionally, three persons were injured by a fallen tree, two were injured by a slab collapse, and two others were injured due to a wall collapse. In Yavatmal district, one person drowned, and in Dhule district, four animals died due to a collapsed wall, according to the State Emergency Operations Center.
