Ensure No Inconvenience to Kanwar Pilgrims, Prioritize Security and Facilities: Yogi Adityanath

CM Yogi Adityanath reviews 20+ departments during Ghaziabad visit

Lucknow/Ghaziabad : On a one-day visit to Ghaziabad on Thursday, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath conducted a high-level review meeting at the Kailash Mansarovar Bhavan in Indirapuram with public representatives and senior officials. The CM reviewed the progress of over 20 departments, including health, education, public works, electricity, Panchayati Raj, and Namami Gange projects. Special directives were issued for preparations related to the Kanwar Yatra and the Hindon River Rejuvenation Project.

Development Projects Under Focus

During the review, CM Yogi focused on departments such as Basic and Secondary Education, PWD, Energy, Alternative Energy, Panchayati Raj, Animal Husbandry, Horticulture, Agriculture, Rural Development, Women and Child Welfare, DUDA, Labour, MSME, Irrigation, Forests, Revenue, and Planning. He stressed timely and quality completion of projects and urged officials to swiftly address public grievances while strengthening infrastructure in both rural and urban areas. There was a focused discussion on rural water supply and pension schemes.

Special Instructions for Kanwar Yatra

The Chief Minister issued detailed directives for the upcoming Kanwar Yatra, especially on routes from Muradnagar to Tila Mod, Kadrabad border to Ghaziabad-Delhi border, Delhi-Meerut Expressway, and NH-24 & NH-9. He ordered the setup of watch towers, Kanwar camps, road repairs, street lighting, CCTV cameras, toilets, clean drinking water, and medical facilities. Further instructions included:

  • Barricading at divider cuts
  • Display of rate lists at food stalls
  • Closure of meat and liquor shops along the route
  • Insulated plastic sheets up to 5 feet on electric poles

CM Emphasizes Comprehensive Arrangements

Yogi Adityanath emphasized comprehensive preparations to ensure a smooth and safe Kanwar Yatra. He directed:

  • Installation of public address systems at key locations
  • Safety measures at unmanned railway crossings
  • Cleanliness at community toilets and petrol stations
  • Regular checks on food quality
  • Separate sanitation facilities for men and women
  • Deployment of cleanliness workers at Kanwar camps
  • Availability of fire extinguishers, sand, and water
  • Promotion of eco-friendly and plastic-free cups, glasses, and plates

The CM instructed the administration to be prepared at all levels to ensure a peaceful and grand yatra.

Hindon River Rejuvenation and Pollution Control

The CM also discussed the Hindon River Rejuvenation Plan, seeking updates on measures to improve water quality and control industrial pollution. He instructed officials to take concrete steps for conservation and cleanliness of the river to ensure clean water for local communities. He stressed prioritizing the Namami Gange scheme for this effort.

He further directed preparation of proposals to allow public use of Ghaziabad’s Kailash Mansarovar Bhavan, Purvanchal Bhavan, and Uttarakhand Bhavan, following suggestions from public representatives. Divisional Commissioner, District Magistrate, and other senior officials were present at the meeting.

CM Launches ‘Pahal’ Portal in Ghaziabad

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launched the ‘Pahal’ digital portal of the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) at Kailash Mansarovar Bhavan. The portal provides a one-click solution for over 1.4 lakh residents, enabling:

  • Property payments
  • Download of documents
  • EMI calculations
  • Registry bookings
  • Name change applications

So far, the portal has generated ₹161.22 crore in revenue and processed 83 modifications. Earlier, these services were manual and time-consuming. ‘Pahal’ has made the process faster, transparent, and user-friendly, eliminating the need for frequent office visits. GDA Vice Chairman Atul Vats explained the portal’s features to the CM.
