Education Minister Inaugurates Race 2025 Prize Distribution Ceremony
Aizawl : The prize distribution ceremony for the Ramthar Veng Aptitude Challenge Examination (RACE) 2025, organised by the Ramthar Veng Branch YMA Education Sub-Committee, was held at the Ramthar Veng Presbyterian Church Hall. The event was graced and officially inaugurated by School Education Minister Dr. Vanlalthlana, who is also the local MLA.
In his speech, Dr. Vanlalthlana stated that true success comes to those who persevere and work diligently. He added that while fame and recognition are often given to a select few, consistent hard work and self-discipline are the real ingredients of success. He urged students to focus on learning with sincerity and determination, reminding them that even if immediate success seems out of reach, dedication and effort will ultimately bear fruit.
The Minister appreciated the Ramthar Veng Branch YMA for organizing such a meaningful event to promote academic excellence in the locality. He encouraged the students to take full advantage of the opportunity and acknowledged the Branch YMA’s consistent commitment to the community’s development. He expressed confidence that the Branch’s efforts will continue to bring progress and pride to the area.
The Aptitude Challenge Examination was taken by around 300 students from the locality. The prize money of ₹2,09,900 was contributed by local parents and community members, reflecting strong community support. Students were categorized into four groups based on their class levels, and the examination was conducted using Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) technology to ensure fairness and accuracy.
Winners received cash prizes as follows:
- Category I: ₹5,000
- Category II: ₹5,000
- Category III: ₹8,000
- Category IV: ₹10,000
Additionally, the Top 10 performers from each category received trophies. The Top 5 overall performers were also awarded trophies along with extra cash prizes.
The event was attended by former Education Minister Pu H. Rohluna, members of the Ramthar Veng Local Council, leaders from various NGOs, community elders, parents, and a large number of students.
