President Droupadi Murmu to inaugurate academic building, auditorium, Panchakarma Center, and lay foundation stone for Girls’ Hostel

Gorakhpur : In line with the vision of its founder and Chancellor, Gorakshapeethadhishwar Yogi Adityanath, the Mahayogi Gorakhnath University, Gorakhpur (MGUG), is emerging as a role model for contemporary, future-oriented education and universally accessible, service-driven healthcare.

Its employment-oriented courses have made it one of the fastest institutions to complete the admission process in a short time. The university has also gained renown for providing excellent and affordable medical care through both allopathic and Ayurvedic systems.

The university’s state-of-the-art infrastructure is continuously expanding. As part of this development, on Tuesday, July 1, President Droupadi Murmu will inaugurate the academic building, a high-tech auditorium, and a world-class Panchakarma center on the MGUG campus.

She will also lay the foundation stone for a girls’ hostel with a capacity of one thousand. Preparations to make the President’s visit a grand event have been finalized.

Aarogyadham, located in Sonbarsa (Balapar Road), Gorakhpur, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, is home to the Mahayogi Gorakhnath University — a project of the Maharana Pratap Shiksha Parishad, which has been fostering nationalistic educational renaissance since before India’s independence.

This educational council operates under the Goraksha Peeth, and the foundation of Mahayogi Gorakhnath University was laid by the current Goraksha Peethadheeshwar and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, based on the vision of Brahmalin Mahant Digvijaynath, founder of the Shiksha Parishad, and Brahmalin Mahant Avedyanath, who expanded it.

The university, located in the scenic surroundings beside the natural lake Chilua Tal, was inaugurated on August 28, 2021, by the then President Ram Nath Kovind. Since its inauguration, the university has made steady progress in the fields of higher and employment-oriented education, as well as healthcare services through Ayurveda and modern medicine.

Dr. Surinder Singh, the Vice-Chancellor of MGUG, explains that in addition to important courses like BAMS and MBBS, the university offers numerous undergraduate, diploma, and postgraduate programs in fields such as Nursing, Pharmacy, Paramedical Sciences, Allied Health Sciences, Agriculture, and Business Administration. All courses here are employment-oriented and have been designed keeping in mind future requirements and global demand.

In Allied Health, globally in-demand courses like Medical Biochemistry and Microbiology are offered, and from this academic session, a course in Forensic Science has also been introduced.

With the inauguration of this university, the services of the Ayurvedic hospital affiliated with the Ayurveda College on campus also became available to the public. This facility offers significant and excellent Panchakarma treatment, which was earlier considered the exclusive domain of South India.

According to Registrar Dr. Pradeep Kumar Rao, apart from the Ayurveda College, high-level modern medical treatment also began with the commencement of the Medical College in the last academic session.

He added that a team of qualified doctors is stationed at the facility, with renowned specialists from across the country regularly visiting for consultations. Advanced services like e-ICU are available through partnerships with doctors from Medanta and AIIMS. The MGUG medical college is also moving swiftly toward its planned upgrade into an 1,800-bed hospital.
