Exhibition on ‘Journey of Cooperatives: From Past to Present’ Inaugurated at Nehru Sahakar Bhawan
An exhibition titled ‘Journey of Cooperatives: From Past to Present’ was inaugurated at Nehru Sahakar Bhawan by Mrs. Manju Rajpal, Principal Secretary and Registrar, Cooperative Societies. The event began with the ceremonial ribbon-cutting and lighting of the lamp in front of Lord Ganesha’s idol. Mrs. Rajpal toured the exhibition and appreciated the detailed information on display.
The exhibition was organized by the Publicity Section as part of a series of events commemorating International Year of Cooperatives – 2025, International Cooperative Day (5th July), and the 4th Foundation Day of the Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India (6th July).
The exhibition offers an engaging and comprehensive display of the evolution of the cooperative movement—from its roots in ancient Indian traditions to the global and Indian cooperative movements, the beginning of cooperatives in Rajasthan, the development of cooperative laws in the state, and the three-tier cooperative structure in Rajasthan. It also showcases the history and current status of apex cooperative institutions in the state, the principles and objectives of cooperation, key achievements under cooperative-led prosperity, and the current relevance of the cooperative model.
Historic photographs tracing the development of the cooperative movement in the state have been attractively displayed.
Several cooperative organizations—CONFED, TRIFED, IFFCO, KRIBHCO, and Tilam Sangh—have also set up stalls exhibiting their products. Mrs. Rajpal visited each stall and received detailed briefings on the products showcased.
On this occasion, she also planted a sapling under the ‘One Tree in Mother’s Name’ campaign and urged people to participate in tree plantation efforts. Officers and staff from the Cooperative Department and cooperative institutions were present at the event.
