Vantawng CLF Wins Best Federation Award

Aizawl : The Vantawng Cluster Level Federation (CLF) from Thenzawl, Serchhip District, under the Mizoram State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MzSRLM) of the Rural Development and Administration Department, has won a national-level award at the Atmanirbhar Sangathan Award 2024, organized by the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), Government of India.

The Vantawng CLF received this Best Federation Award for being one of the most outstanding federations in India.

Out of 33,736 Cluster Level Federations (CLFs) across the country, a multi-phase selection was conducted, and Vantawng CLF emerged as the top performer from the North East Region in Phase 4. The award was conferred in recognition of the excellent work done by the CLF for the upliftment of women Self-Help Group (SHG) members at the grassroots level.

Key parameters for evaluation included:

  • Effective use of Community Funds by the CLF
  • Support to SHG members in income generation
  • Strong internal coordination and governance
  • Successful convergence with line departments
  • Execution of relief work during the COVID-19 pandemic, among others.

The award also carries a cash prize of ₹3 lakhs, and it will be officially presented by the Union Minister of Rural Development on Independence Day in New Delhi to the leaders of the CLF.

It is worth noting that earlier, on 22nd November 2024, the Tuikum Cluster Level Federation from Chhingchhip, Serchhip District, also received the Best SHG Federation Award 2024 at a ceremony held in Hyderabad under MzSRLM.
