CM Dhami Plants Paddy in Khatima, Pays Tribute to Farmers’ Hard Work
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took to the fields in Khatima’s Nagra Terai region on Saturday to participate in paddy planting on his own farm, paying heartfelt tribute to the hard work, dedication, and sacrifices of farmers. By engaging directly in the agricultural activity, he honored the invaluable contributions of the farming community.
The Chief Minister remarked that stepping into the fields brought back memories of earlier days. He emphasized that farmers are not only the backbone of the nation’s economy but also the carriers of our rich culture and traditions.
Marking the occasion with cultural reverence, CM Dhami offered traditional prayers through “Hudkiya Baul”, a revered folk expression of Uttarakhand, invoking Bhumiya Devta (God of Land), Indra Dev (God of Rain), and Megh Devta (God of Clouds and Shade). His participation deeply resonated with the local community, strengthening the bond between the leadership and the rural population.
This symbolic and heartfelt gesture by CM Dhami stands as a meaningful tribute to Uttarakhand’s agrarian roots and showcases a strong commitment to preserving its rural culture and traditional folk arts.
