Adequate Supply of Fertilizers and Seeds Through Cooperative Societies in Kabirdham
Over 70% of Fertilizer Distribution Target Achieved for Kharif 2025 Season
Raipur : Under the directives of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and the supervision of the District Collector, the supply and storage of fertilizers are being carried out efficiently through Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Societies in Kabirdham district. As of now, 3,128 metric tonnes of fertilizers are securely stored in the district’s double-lock centers.
For the Kharif 2025 season, the target for fertilizer distribution in the district has been set at 55,864 metric tonnes. Of this, 39,322 metric tonnes have already been stored and 35,201 metric tonnes have been distributed to farmers—achieving approximately 70% of the overall target.
Deputy Director of Agriculture, Shri Amit Mohanty, stated that farmers are being encouraged not only to use DAP (Di-Ammonium Phosphate) but also to consider alternative fertilizers such as NPK (Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium) and SSP (Single Super Phosphate). Extensive awareness campaigns are being conducted across villages to promote these alternatives. As a result, the uptake of such fertilizers has significantly increased compared to the previous year.
Agriculture department officials are also ensuring the timely application of fertilizers like urea based on the crop growth stage. To guarantee adequate supply of urea and NPK during the remaining three months of the Kharif season, the District Marketing Office and Agriculture Department are maintaining regular communication and coordination with supplier companies and senior offices.
The supply of DAP fertilizer through rake points in the district is also ongoing, ensuring there is no disruption in storage and distribution processes. Providing quality fertilizers to farmers as per their requirements is among the top priorities of the district administration.
Efforts are being made to ensure that the fertilizer distribution system is transparent, fast, and seamless, through close coordination among the Agriculture Department, the Marketing Federation, and Cooperative Societies. These efforts aim to ensure that farmers face no inconvenience and can apply fertilizers on time, leading to better crop yields.
