Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami Attends Event Celebrating the 90th Birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Dehradun
Chief Minister Shri Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in a program held on Sunday at Clement Town, Dehradun, to mark the 90th birthday of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. On this occasion, the Chief Minister extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all fellow citizens and the Tibetan community.
During the event, the Chief Minister announced that the Buddha Temple Road will be widened and that a tin shed will be constructed at the Tibetan cremation ground. He stated that His Holiness the Dalai Lama has shown the world the path of peace, non-violence, and compassion. “His teachings are even more relevant today as the world faces numerous challenges,” he added.
CM Dhami highlighted the Dalai Lama’s guiding philosophy, quoting him: “My religion is compassion.” He said this very principle makes him a true spiritual leader of the world.
The Chief Minister affirmed that Devbhoomi Uttarakhand has always extended love, respect, and security to the Tibetan community. He assured that the state government will continue to protect the interests of the Tibetan people while also supporting their cultural, educational, and social development.
Concluding his address, CM Dhami prayed for the good health and long life of His Holiness so that future generations may continue to receive guidance through his invaluable teachings and wisdom.
