Chief Minister Felicitates Karate Champions from Uttarakhand
Anamika, Maitri, and Kriyansh win medals at South Asian Karate Championship
New Delhi : Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami felicitated three talented karate champions from Uttarakhand in New Delhi on Tuesday for their outstanding achievements in the 9th South Asian Karate Championship, held in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on 5–6 July 2025.
The Chief Minister praised Anamika, Maitri, and Kriyansh for making the state and their families proud with their sports talent. He said these athletes are the foundation of a bright future for Uttarakhand. Representing India at the international event, Anamika Bisht won a silver medal, while Maitri Baluni and Kriyansh Kaushik secured bronze medals.
He extended his best wishes for their future endeavors and expressed hope that they continue to bring more laurels to the state and the nation.
The players were selected based on their excellent performance at the National Karate Championship held in Dehradun by the Karate India Organization.
- Anamika Bisht, daughter of Shri Harish Bisht from Champawat district, won silver.
- Maitri Baluni, daughter of Shri Kailash Baluni from Doiwala, Dehradun district, won bronze.
- Kriyansh Kaushik, son of Shri Sumanta Sharma from Dehradun district, also won bronze.
