Special Session on “Overview of Urban Policies and Investment Opportunities”

A special session on “Overview of Urban Policies and Investment Opportunities” was held during the MP Growth Conclave 2025 at the Brilliant Convention Centre, Indore.

Additional Chief Secretary of the Urban Development and Housing Department, Shri Sanjay Dubey, addressed the session and said that Madhya Pradesh has emerged as a perfect investment destination due to its investor-friendly policies, efficient governance, green environment and dedicated human resources. He urged investors to explore the promising opportunities in the state’s urban development sector.

Shri Dubey informed investors that sector-specific policies have been formulated for all aspects of development, including transportation, infrastructure, service sectors, and energy. He emphasised that there are immense real-time investment opportunities in Madhya Pradesh, and investing in a region with high growth potential is naturally a profitable decision. All government procedures have been digitised to facilitate easier access to permissions, and departmental accountability has been established to ensure investor support.

Highlighting the state’s robust infrastructure for industries, Shri Dubey stated that Madhya Pradesh is equipped with 20 railway junctions, a multimodal logistics park, and six airports, offering substantial logistical advantages to investors. He also presented key features of policies such as the MP Redensification Policy, MP TDR Rules, TOT Policy 2019, and the Integrated Township Policy. He informed that 93 projects worth approximately Rs. 15,700 crores are currently in progress in the department, and the online tender process for these projects will commence soon with complete transparency.

Principal Secretary of the Department of Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion, Shri Raghvendra Singh, highlighted that Madhya Pradesh’s economic growth is currently among the fastest in India’s large states. He stated that Indore is one of the fastest-growing cities in the country. He added that the state government has prepared a special strategy to effectively integrate urbanisation with industrialisation, yielding strong results in the infrastructure and mobility sectors. He also provided insights into the land bank, industrial parks, and MSME/startup policy, and mentioned that these policies have gained national recognition. He called this the right and most opportune time for investors to invest in Madhya Pradesh.

Commissioner of Urban Administration and Development, Shri Sanket Bhondve, said that serious planning is underway to define the direction of urban development in the state for the next five years. He spoke about the AMRUT Green Campaign for environmental reforms and emphasised that development is incomplete without urban mobility. The state is actively working on projects like ropeways, expressways, and metros. Shri Bhondve further stated that infrastructure is becoming a growth booster for Madhya Pradesh. The citizens will be facilitated through digital lockers, business lockers, and digital wallets, which will soon be provided to them.

Shri Shantanu Sharma shed light on technological innovations in the transport sector and their impacts. Commissioner of Town and Country Planning Shri Shrikant Banoth, MPIDC MD Shri Chandramouli Shukla, along with various investors from the real estate sector and senior officials, also participated in the session.
