Akal Takht and Takht Patna Sahib gets united for a broader Sikhism.

In a major move towards panthic unity, the five Singh Sahibans convened at Sri Akal Takht Sahib have reversed previous controversial decisions involving Takht Sri Harmandir Ji Patna Sahib. The meeting emphasised reconciliation, respect for Sikh sentiments, and resolving disputes amicably.

Akal Takht Sahib revoked the May 21, 2025, decisions that had barred Bhai Baldev Singh and Bhai Gurdyal Singh from serving at Takht Patna Sahib. Their services have now been fully restored. The decision came after reviewing an appeal sent by the Patna Sahib Committee on July 12.

In a significant directive, Giani Ranjit Singh Gauhar has been asked to withdraw his court case filed against the Patna Sahib Committee. Akal Takht clarified that legal actions from panthic figures harm the faith of the sangat and contradict Sikh tenets. The Patna Sahib Committee has also been instructed to settle all pending service-related dues of Giani Ranjit Singh in accordance with regulations, following a mutual meeting. Additionally, both parties were strictly instructed to refrain from making any public or social media statements on the issue going forward.

In its letter, the Patna Sahib Committee reiterated its full respect for Sri Akal Takht Sahib and affirmed its commitment to the unity and rising spirit of the Khalsa Panth. This collective agreement between the two takhts is being seen as a milestone step toward internal harmony and mutual respect within the Sikh community.

This development reflects the spirit of unity and gurmat. Instead of confrontation, we choose resolution”, said Singh Sahib Giani Kuldeep Singh Gargaaj, acting Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
