Indian Chef in Slovakia Prepares to Serve PM Modi’s Delegation Ahead of Historic Visit

Bratislava/New Delhi, June 2026 : Excitement is mounting among members of the Indian diaspora in Slovakia as Prime Minister Narendra Modi prepares for his historic visit to the Central European nation. With preparations in full swing, Indian-origin businesses and community members in Bratislava are eagerly looking forward to welcoming the Indian leader and his delegation.

At the heart of the preparations is an Indian restaurant in Bratislava owned by Rajesh, where chefs and staff are working tirelessly to serve authentic Indian cuisine to the visiting delegation. The restaurant has become a hub of activity as menus are being finalized and arrangements made for the high-profile visit.

Leading the culinary preparations is head chef Rajendra Singh Negi, who has lived and worked in Slovakia for a decade. Expressing his excitement, he said that hosting the Prime Minister’s delegation is a matter of immense pride.

“I have been here for 10 years and serve as the head chef. Prime Minister of our country is coming here, and his team has already visited us. We are preparing dinner for the delegation, and it is a proud moment for all of us,” Negi said.

Another chef at the restaurant, who has been in Slovakia since 2023, echoed similar sentiments. He described the visit as a long-awaited occasion for the Indian community in the country.

“We have waited a long time for the Prime Minister of our country to visit Slovakia. We are very happy and feel extremely proud. It is a special moment for all Indians living here,” he said.

Members of the Indian diaspora believe the visit will not only strengthen ties between India and Slovakia but also deepen cultural and people-to-people connections. Community members have been preparing to welcome the Prime Minister and showcase India’s rich traditions and heritage.

Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to undertake a state visit to Slovakia on Sunday at the invitation of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico. The visit holds special significance as it will be the first by an Indian Prime Minister to Slovakia since the country gained independence in 1993.

During his visit, PM Modi is expected to hold delegation-level talks with Prime Minister Fico and meet Slovak President Peter Pellegrini. The discussions are likely to focus on expanding cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, automobile manufacturing, railway infrastructure, and technology.

The visit is being viewed as a major milestone in India-Slovakia relations and is expected to open new avenues for political, economic, and industrial collaboration.

For the Indian community in Slovakia, however, the occasion carries an added emotional significance — an opportunity to welcome their Prime Minister to a country many now call home while celebrating the enduring bond between India and its diaspora across the world.
