CM Shinde Announces ₹5 Lakh Aid for Kin of Mumbai-Pune Expressway Accident Victims, Free Treatment for Injured.
Navi Mumbai : On July 15, a tragic accident occurred on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway involving a private bus carrying devotees from Dombivli (Ghesar village) to Pandharpur. In light of this incident, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced today that the state government will provide financial assistance of ₹5 lakh to the families of the deceased and free medical treatment for the injured.
Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited the Mahatma Gandhi Mission Hospital in Kalamboli, Navi Mumbai, today to inquire about the injured. He reassured the patients that the government stands with them and discussed the treatment details with the attending medical officers. He instructed that any patient in the intensive care unit requiring further specialized treatment should be transferred to other hospitals if necessary.
The accident, which involved a private bus and a tractor, resulted in 46 injuries. Among them, seven devotees are critically injured and are being treated in the intensive care unit.
The Chief Minister has ordered a thorough investigation into the accident by the relevant authorities.
