Satara City Eagerly Awaits the Arrival of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s Tiger Claws.
Satara : Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s historic tiger claws are set to arrive in Shahunagari Satara on July 19, 2024, for public display. The entire district of Satara is prepared to welcome this significant event with grand and royal celebrations, as directed by Guardian Minister Shambhuraj Desai.
In a planning meeting held at the District Collector’s office, chaired by Guardian Minister Shambhuraj Desai, detailed arrangements for the arrival of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s tiger claws were discussed. The meeting saw the presence of MLA Shri. Ch. Shivendrasinhraje Bhosale, MLA Jaykumar Gore, District Collector Jitendra Dudi, Police Superintendent Sameer Shaikh, and District Council Chief Executive Officer Yashni Nagrajan, among other key department heads.
Following the meeting, Guardian Minister Shambhuraj Desai, along with District Collector Jitendra Dudi and other senior officials, visited the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Museum to inspect the exhibition halls and provide necessary instructions. Curator Praveen Shinde provided detailed information during the visit.
The sacred tiger claws of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj will be displayed at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Museum in Satara from July 19, allowing the public to view them. A grand welcoming ceremony is planned, and the claws will be on display for seven months. The administration has meticulously planned the event to ensure every citizen in the district gets the opportunity to witness these historic artifacts.
Invitations for the welcoming ceremony have been extended to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. The entire city and district will be adorned with welcome arches, banners, and posters. Encroachments around the museum will be cleared, and special attention will be given to decorating the museum and ensuring it is well-lit.
The tiger claws are being brought from the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and will be housed in Hall No. 3 of the museum. Security measures, including CCTV cameras, sensors, and a robust security system, have been put in place to safeguard the claws. Each day, students from two schools in Satara district will be allowed to view the claws for free. Other visitors can purchase tickets for Rs. 10, with the exhibition open from 10 AM to 5 PM.
