District Planning Committee meeting concludes under Guardian Minister Uday Samant’s chairmanship; approves 501 crore draft plan.
Raigad, July 16, 2024 (Jimaca): The District Planning Committee meeting concluded today under the chairmanship of State Industry Minister and Guardian Minister of Raigad District, Uday Samant. During the meeting, a draft plan totaling Rs. 501.61 crore was approved for Raigad district under the General District Annual Plan for 2024-25, including Rs. 432 crore for the general district annual plan, Rs. 28 crore for the Scheduled Caste Scheme, and Rs. 41.61 crore for the Tribal Sub-Scheme.
The meeting, held at the District Planning Committee Hall, was attended by MP Sunil Tatkare, MLAs Ravindra Patil, Bharat Gogawle, Prashant Thakur, Mahendra Dalvi, and Mahendra Thorve, along with Collector Kishan Jawle, Chief Executive Officer Dr. Bharat Bastewad, District Superintendent of Police Somnath Gharge, Additional Collector Sunil Thorve, Resident Deputy Collector Sandesh Shirke, and heads of various government departments.
The draft plan for the year 2024-25 was formulated based on input received from all sectors. Within the financial framework provided by the planning department for Raigad district, the District Planning Committee approved a total budget of Rs. 501.61 crore.
Guardian Minister Uday Samant emphasized the state government’s commitment to the overall development of the district, attributing sufficient funds from Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde, Devendra Fadnavis, and Ajit Pawar for Raigad’s development. He highlighted an increase in this year’s plan from Rs. 360 crore to Rs. 432 crore, aimed at implementing effective schemes for societal welfare.
Minister Samant directed implementing agencies to promptly execute proposals and recommendations from elected representatives for district development. He announced an additional Rs. 72 crore allocation for development work and noted infrastructure improvements including renovations at the District Planning Committee Hall and provision of vehicles and CCTV systems to the police.
A new district hospital with 300 beds will receive Rs. 105 crore, strengthening the district’s healthcare system. Minister Samant underscored the importance of institutional deliveries in healthcare and urged the health system to focus on this area.
He instructed efficient implementation of Chief Minister Vayashri Yojana and Chief Minister’s Tirtha Darshan Yojana, emphasizing forthcoming meetings for completing Nhava-Sheva Phase No. 3. He also stressed the involvement of people’s representatives in public interest initiatives.
Regarding proposals for Karjat taluka’s cracked areas, Minister Samant advocated consultations with elected representatives and immediate disbursement of funds upon approval. He assured strict action against officers not complying with regulations.
MP Sunil Tatkare highlighted pending proposals at the national and central levels, pledging follow-up actions as needed.
