“Boosting Gujarat’s Infrastructure: ₹1470 Crore Allocated for Road Upgrades” – CM Patel.
Gandhinagar: Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has given initial approval for an allocation of ₹1470 crore to upgrade and strengthen 65 roads covering a total of 688 kilometers across Gujarat. These roads, crucial for connecting industrial and quarry areas, will see significant improvements.
Under this plan, 83 kilometers of roads will be widened to four lanes, while 173 kilometers will be expanded to a width of 10 meters. An additional 432 kilometers of roads will undergo strengthening, including necessary enhancements to drainage structures. Where necessary, flyovers will be constructed based on detailed project reports.
The Chief Minister has instructed the Road and Building Department to ensure comprehensive coverage of roads in alignment with development strategies for the North, Central, South, Kutch, and Saurashtra regions.
This initiative aims to streamline industrial logistics by facilitating easier movement of raw materials, finished products, and minerals. Moreover, the upgraded infrastructure is expected to alleviate traffic congestion in cities, towns, and villages connected by these vital routes.
