Storytelling Competition Held in Lawngtlai

Lawngtlai : A storytelling competition under the Tourism Department was held today at the Government Lawngtlai College Hall, organized by the DC Office Lawngtlai.

The competition focused on narrating stories about attractive and scenic tourist spots in Lawngtlai District. Participants shared information and personal experiences about various tourist destinations in the district. The main aim of the competition was to promote lesser-known but beautiful places in Lawngtlai and encourage tourism development in the region.

Winners of today’s storytelling competition were:

  • First Prize: Hunlawmawmi, Class VIII, Downtown English School – ₹5,000
  • Second Prize: Rosangzuali, Class VI, Downtown English School – ₹3,000
  • Third Prize: Malsawmsangi, Class VII, Downtown English School – ₹2,000

The award ceremony was graced by Mr. Elvis Lalthangzuala, President of the Mizoram Journalists’ Association (MJA), Lawngtlai District.

Hunlawmawmi, who won first place, will represent Lawngtlai District at the State-level Storytelling Competition to be held in Aizawl on August 8, 2025, where participants from across Mizoram will compete.
