Chief Minister Inaugurates Newly Constructed GRIT Office in Gandhinagar; Launches Website and Digital Dashboard
Gandhinagar : Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel expressed confidence that with the working model of ‘GRIT’ and its result-oriented strategies, Gujarat is ready to take the lead in fulfilling the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’ as envisioned by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
The Gujarat State Institution for Transformation (GRIT) has been established to serve as a think tank for guiding the state’s development strategies.
Chief Minister inaugurated the newly constructed GRIT office in Gandhinagar. In the presence of Chief Secretary Shri Pankaj Joshi, he launched GRIT’s website and digital dashboard, and unveiled policy papers, workshop reports, and sector-specific deep dive study reports meticulously prepared by GRIT.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister stated that GRIT can play a crucial role in accelerating progress in sectors where Gujarat is already ahead and in providing structured recommendations to boost growth in sectors that require further development. He added that GRIT’s insights will support the vision of Viksit Bharat by helping include every citizen in the development journey and encouraged its young, dedicated team.
On the website launched by the Chief Minister, information will be made available about GRIT’s vision and mission, governing body, key functions, policy papers, research reports, and project details under the Economic Master Plan. GRIT’s digital dashboard has been activated to regularly monitor infrastructure projects undertaken by various departments of the state government.
Among the key documents prepared by GRIT and unveiled by the Chief Minister were policy notes on Blue Sky Policy and E-waste Management Policy, workshop reports on topics like post-harvest losses, current status, and opportunities in green manufacturing in the pharma sector, nutrition in the first 1000 days, and strengthening evaluation capacity.
Chief Minister also unveiled reports of deep dive studies undertaken by GRIT on topics such as promoting Medical Value Tourism (MVT) in Gujarat, strengthening the state’s fintech ecosystem, improving export performance, and establishing institutional mechanisms to accelerate growth in the services sector of the state economy.
GRIT’s Chief Executive Officer, S. Aparna, IAS (Retd), warmly welcomed all attendees and said that GRIT will serve the state government with strategic foresight, data-driven recommendations, and reports with an integrated approach to development.
Chief Minister reviewed data on the digital dashboard of the newly inaugurated GRIT office with the belief that such future-oriented initiatives will reflect continuous progress toward Gujarat’s long-term development goals and make a meaningful contribution to the national vision of Viksit Bharat.
Secretary of the Planning Division, Ms. Ardra Agrawal, extended a vote of thanks to all. On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri M.K. Das, secretaries from various departments of the state government, knowledge partners, researchers, and other invitees were present.
