PWD Minister Inspects Road Infrastructure Between Mamit and Bairabi

Kolasib : Today, Pu Vanlalhlana, Hon’ble Minister of PWD, Transport and Parliamentary Affairs, visited the ongoing road construction works between Mamit and Bairabi for on-site inspection. During his visit, the Minister also inspected the construction of National Highway 06 (4-Lane) near Bairabi town, including infrastructure around the Bairabi Railway Station and the Food Corporation of India (FCI) Godown.

Minister Vanlalhlana stated that the road between Mamit and Bairabi serves as a crucial link between two districts of Mizoram and plays a vital role in the transportation of food and commercial goods. Given its importance, he stressed the need for urgent and quality construction of this route. He further added that the government is making efforts to accelerate the construction process.

At Bairabi, the Minister inspected the ongoing 4-Lane NH-06 project being undertaken by NIDHI Creative Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. since earlier this year. He held discussions with the Land Owners’ Association to address various issues related to the project. Topics discussed included problems faced during the road construction and procedures for addressing compensation disputes in a fair and prompt manner.

The Minister also visited the FCI Go-down in Bairabi, interacted with the staff, and conducted a spot inspection of the railway station area. He reviewed the new railway line construction and inspected the condition of National Highway 06 from Bairabi to Aizawl.

Minister Vanlalhlana was accompanied by Pu Chinlianmanga, Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil), Bairabi, Er. Robin Lalrinawma, Chief Engineer (Highways), PWD, Er. PC David Lalrinliana, Executive Engineer, NH Division-I, PWD, along with senior representatives from NIDHI Creative Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd.
