Yogi Government Gifts Modern Facilities to PAC Personnel

11-Storey Barrack Tower Built for 26th Battalion PAC in Gorakhpur; Inauguration Expected Soon

Gorakhpur — The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government has gifted a state-of-the-art residential facility to the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) personnel, recognising their vital role in maintaining law and order. In Gorakhpur, a modern 11-storey barrack tower has been completed within the premises of the 26th Battalion PAC to house 200 jawans (personnel).

Built at a cost of approximately ₹12 crore, the barrack tower is equipped with modern amenities, including elevators, rainwater harvesting, an RCC tank, septic tank, DG set for power backup, and a fire safety system. The project was executed by the Public Works Department (Building Division) and is now ready for inauguration, which is expected to be led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The state government had sanctioned ₹11.67 crore for the construction of this facility. The ground floor of the tower includes a dining hall, lobby kitchen, verandah, toilets, two lifts, and two staircases. The first floor features another dining hall, an open terrace, a recreation room, lobby, toilets, and access to lifts and staircases.

From the second to the eleventh floor, each level houses four rooms, with each room capable of accommodating five jawans — providing comfortable living space for 200 personnel in total. Each floor is also equipped with four toilets, along with lift and staircase access.

The facility reflects the Yogi government’s ongoing efforts to enhance infrastructure for the state’s security forces. CM Yogi Adityanath has often praised the PAC’s contribution to upholding law and order across various platforms. With this new barrack, the accommodation and welfare of PAC jawans will significantly improve, ensuring they have access to modern, secure, and well-maintained living quarters.
