Plan Safety and Timely Execution Before Laying Sewer Lines – Negligence Will Not Be Tolerated: Urban Development & Housing Minister

60th RUDSICO Board Meeting Held at DLB Headquarters

Jaipur : Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Jhabar Singh Kharra emphasized that planning for affordable housing projects and sewer works must prioritize public needs, safety, and organized urban development. He was chairing the 60th Board Meeting of RUDSICO held on Monday at the DLB headquarters auditorium.

During the meeting, a review of previous board decisions and ongoing projects under RUIDP, RUDSICO, and RAVIL—including centrally and state-sponsored schemes like PMAY and AMRUT—was undertaken. The Minister directed that all projects should be executed within set timelines and with strict quality standards.

Minister Kharra stressed the importance of preparing a detailed work plan before starting any sewer work, considering its duration, quality, and public safety to prevent any loss of life or property. He instructed that special attention be given to the construction of sewer inlets and outlets. DPRs (Detailed Project Reports) for sewer drainage projects should be meticulously prepared and any shortcomings during implementation should be avoided. He made it clear that concerned technical officers will be held accountable for the accuracy and execution of DPRs. Contractors showing negligence will be issued notices and fined to prevent future issues.

He also raised concern over the delay in affordable housing projects and instructed officials to create an effective action plan to expedite their completion, enabling the general public to realize their dream of owning a home.

Furthermore, the appointment of two Independent Directors of RUDSICO was approved during the meeting. As per norms, Mrs. Suman Sharma and Mr. Surya Prakash Chopra have been appointed as Independent Directors of RUDSICO.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Debashish Prusti (Principal Secretary, Urban Development & Housing), Mr. Ravi Jain (Secretary, Department of Local Self Government), Mr. Ravindra Goswami (Mission Director, PHED), Dr. Rashmi Sharma (Housing Commissioner), Mr. Hari Mohan Meena (Executive Director, RUDSICO), Mr. Prateek Juikar (Director, DLB), Mr. Ummed Singh (Financial Advisor), Chief Engineer Mr. Arun Vyas, Mr. Pradeep Garg, and other senior officials.
