CM Stalin Congratulates Newly Appointed Teachers at Posting Order Ceremony

Chennai – A grand ceremony was held today at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai, where posting orders were handed over to 2,457 newly appointed government school teachers selected through the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB). Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Thiru M.K. Stalin, though unable to attend the event in person due to health reasons and doctors’ advice to rest, conveyed his heartfelt message of congratulations to the new recruits through School Education Minister Thiru Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, who read out the CM’s message.

In his message, Chief Minister Stalin expressed regret for not being able to attend the joyous occasion and extended his best wishes to the appointed teachers. He emphasized the significant role teachers play in shaping the future of students and, by extension, the society. He stated that schools are the pillars of knowledge and that the teaching profession is a noble mission that molds young minds to think critically and lead the way forward.

The Chief Minister underlined that this mass appointment is part of the government’s broader effort to strengthen school education in Tamil Nadu. These appointments fill long-pending vacancies, and the government continues to implement progressive reforms under various flagship initiatives such as Illam Thedi Kalvi (Education at Doorstep), Naan Mudhalvan (I Am the First), modernized model schools in 28 districts, expanded skill training programs, and recognition for students through awards and festivals.

He also highlighted that the BJP-led central government has withheld funding to Tamil Nadu’s school education department, citing disagreements over the new education policy. In response, the Tamil Nadu government has independently and proactively advanced with its own education reforms, rooted in scientific and inclusive principles.

To support teachers further, the state has distributed tablets worth ₹81 crore to 79,723 teachers, introduced easier procedures for transfers, promotions, and service validations, and ensured EMIS-based monitoring for transparency. Scholarships for teachers’ children pursuing higher education have been increased to ₹50,000, and health check-ups will now be conducted every three years.

As a token of appreciation, outstanding teachers and schools have been honored under the Thagaval Maiyyam Maavil award scheme, recognizing excellence and innovation in education.

Concluding his message, CM Stalin reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing public education and congratulated all the newly appointed teachers, wishing them a successful and fulfilling journey in shaping the future of Tamil Nadu.
