Deputy Speaker Graces Graduation Day 2025 at Government Kolasib College

Kolasib : Government Kolasib College held its Graduation Day 2025 today at the college’s main hall. The event was graced by Pu Lalfamkima, Deputy Speaker of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly, as the chief guest. Newly graduated students, college faculty, and students participated in the ceremony.

In his address, Pu Lalfamkima, who is also the MLA of Kolasib constituency, congratulated the graduating students and extended his best wishes for their future endeavors. He encouraged the graduates to remain steadfast in their journey ahead, emphasizing that this milestone is only the beginning. He reminded them that while challenges and uncertainties may arise, they must move forward with confidence, continuously learning and striving toward their goals. He also encouraged those pursuing competitive careers to stay committed and persistent.

Pu Lalfamkima highlighted that graduates are now more equipped to contribute meaningfully to society and that their achievements are the result of their own efforts and determination. He said that life itself is a continuous learning process and that while not every job offers prestige or visibility, all work is valuable and has its own importance. He advised them to remain true to themselves, stay passionate, and choose the right path based on their strengths and values.

Addressing the students, he emphasized that their education will empower them to face life’s challenges and that success comes with hard work, sincerity, and resilience. He urged them to stay grounded and keep moving forward with purpose.

Earlier in the program, the Principal of Government Kolasib College, Pu Laltanpuia Rengsi, welcomed the gathering and addressed the graduates. He expressed gratitude for their academic achievements and encouraged them to continue their journey with courage and determination. He also expressed pride in the college’s academic performance in the recent university examinations.

In the May 2025 undergraduate examinations conducted by Mizoram University, 143 students from Govt. Kolasib College appeared, of whom 94 passed. Among them, 2 achieved distinction, 66 secured first division, and 26 received second division marks. The overall pass percentage stood at 65.70%. The college also secured a position among the Top 10 colleges in Mizoram, with the Geography Department contributing significantly to this recognition.

Today’s Graduation Day celebration also featured speeches, cultural performances, and traditional dances. Excellence Awards were distributed to outstanding students, along with mementos and certificates. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Pu Christopher J.Z. Lawlor.
