Former Foreign Minister of Nigeria, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama, Pays Courtesy Visit to CM Shri Bhupendra Patel
Gandhinagar : Former Foreign Minister of Nigeria, Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama, met Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar. He is visiting India under the Indian Culture Immersion Programme organised by the Ministry of External Affairs, during which this visit to Gujarat has been arranged. Mr. Geoffrey Onyeama has visited the Statue of Unity and Maharaja Sayajirao University in Vadodara and is scheduled to visit NFSU and GTU on Thursday.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel met him and his wife today. They expressed admiration for Gujarat’s development and heritage. He also praised Gujarat for providing higher education opportunities to Nigerian students. CM appreciated his participation in the G-20 Summit, highlighting Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s inclusive leadership under the Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam mantra.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel stated that Nigeria’s participation in the G-20 Summit has further strengthened India–Nigeria bilateral ties. Former Nigerian Foreign Minister praised India’s rapid economic and technological growth under PM Modi’s leadership and acknowledged the contribution of the Gujarati diaspora to Nigeria’s development. CM expressed Gujarat’s readiness to collaborate with Nigeria in trade, industry, and investment.
Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, Shri M.K. Das; Principal Secretary of Industries, Ms. Mamta Verma; Industries Commissioner, Shri P. Swaroop; and Managing Director of INDEXTb, Shri Keyur Sampat, were also present at the meeting.
