“Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam” Expands: Over 1,250 Special Health Camps under “Nalam Kaakkum Stalin” Initiative on August 2

The Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Mr. M.K. Stalin, has called on people’s representatives and the public to actively participate in the special health camps to be held on August 2, 2025, under the “Nalam Kaakkum Stalin” (Stalin for Health) initiative.

Following the formation of the Dravidian Model Government in 2021, Tamil Nadu has emerged as a leading state in delivering welfare schemes with the vision of “Everything for Everyone.” With a strong focus on holistic development—administrative, economic, and social—the government has launched programs addressing the needs, aspirations, and challenges of every citizen.

In the health and family welfare sector, programs like “Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam” (Healthcare at People’s Doorstep) and “Nammai Kaakkum 48” have been actively implemented. To strengthen outreach and ensure that high-quality healthcare services reach even more people, the government has developed and launched a new initiative based on a series of review meetings.

On April 21, 2025, the Hon’ble Health Minister announced in the Tamil Nadu Assembly that special medical camps would be held at a cost of ₹12.78 crore, offering advanced medical care. These “Nalam Kaakkum Stalin” health camps will be inaugurated at St. Peter’s School, Ayyavaram, Chennai and rolled out statewide on August 2, 2025.
