Chief Minister Meets Special Secretary & Task Force Member On Deregulation And Reduction Of Compliance Burden
Aizawl, Aug 25: Chief Minister Pu Lalduhoma held a meeting at his office with Pu K.K. Pathak, Special Secretary & Member of the Task Force on Deregulation and Reduction of Compliance Burden.
The Chief Minister welcomed Pu K.K. Pathak and his team and expressed hope that their initiatives would bring significant positive impacts for both India and Mizoram. He stated that the Government of India’s efforts to enhance the Ease of Doing Business are commendable, and continued collaboration and dialogue are essential to streamline procedures and make the business environment more efficient. He emphasized his desire for a smoother and more business-friendly working environment in Mizoram.
Pu K.K. Pathak briefed the Chief Minister on his discussions with the Mizoram Chief Secretary and the assessments made regarding Mizoram’s administrative systems. He acknowledged the proactive measures already undertaken by the Mizoram government but pointed out that there are still many regulatory practices that need to be deregulated to ease the burden on enterprises.
He highlighted the importance of strengthening Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), stating that India’s economic growth depends significantly on the empowerment and expansion of MSMEs. He stressed that compared to other states, Mizoram must focus more on facilitating MSME growth to strengthen its economy.
Additionally, discussions were held regarding the need to simplify Building Laws and expedite Forest Clearance processes to foster growth and development.
The Task Force, established by the Government of India, aims to improve the Ease of Doing Business for MSMEs by identifying and addressing unnecessary compliance burdens. The Task Force is chaired by the Cabinet Secretary, with a mandate to recommend policy reforms that streamline central and state governance systems to be more business-friendly and efficient.
