New Delhi, Aug 25 : The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has strongly condemned the baton charge by Delhi Police on students and teachers protesting at Jantar Mantar against the Staff Selection Commission (SSC). AAP’s National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, along with other party leaders, termed the lathi-charge as a brutal attack on the dreams and aspirations of students. The party stated that by unleashing such barbaric force on students and teachers, the Modi government has once again showcased its dictatorship.

Sharing a video on X (formerly Twitter) of the police action against protesting students and teachers, Kejriwal said, “The youth of this country is on the streets, getting beaten with batons, just because they are questioning their future. SSC exams can change the lives of millions, but when the very process is riddled with questions, how can trust remain? These batons were not just on the bodies of the youth; they struck at the heart of their dreams and hopes. The youth is now asking—how long will the system continue to mock their hard work? This time, answers must be given.”

AAP has extended full support to the demands of students and teachers who are protesting against alleged irregularities in the SSC exams. The party echoed the students’ concerns regarding technical glitches, sudden cancellation of exams, and the controversial awarding of tenders to a blacklisted company. Students are demanding transparency in SSC paper handling.

They pointed out that the company awarded the tender failed to conduct exams properly at the centers. This is the same company that was involved in the infamous Patwari Examination Scam in Indore and was blacklisted from there. Despite this, the company was awarded the contract for conducting one of the largest examinations in the country after UPSC.
