Haryana Minister Mool Chand Sharma Suspends District MVO.

Chandigarh – Haryana  Industries and Commerce Minister, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma, today suspended the Motor Vehicle Officer (MVO) of the District Regional Transport Office for failing to perform duties correctly and ignoring essential meetings during the hearing of complaints at the District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee meeting in Charkhi Dadri.

During the meeting, a complaint regarding overloading was raised before the Minister, highlighting that thousands of trucks pass through Dadri daily, most of which are overloaded, causing road damage and accidents, resulting in loss of lives. Despite this, no steps are being taken by the Regional Transport Office.

Mool Chand Sharma, while taking strict cognizance of the complaint, ordered the suspension of the MVO for negligence in duty and absence from crucial meetings, stating that merely issuing challans is not a solution to the overloading problem. Officers should strictly prohibit overloading.

Strict Adherence to Government Rules to Prevent Overloading

Mool Chand Sharma directed the Secretary of the Regional Transport Authority to pay special attention to Charkhi Dadri district and coordinate with adjacent districts for stringent enforcement. He clarified that according to government regulations, if a vehicle is issued an overloading challan three times, its registration cannot be renewed. Similarly, a driver’s license can be revoked if they are issued an overloading challan twice. These government rules must be strictly enforced in the district. Overloading should not be allowed under any circumstances, directed Sh. Mool Chand Sharma.

Directions issues to form a Committee under Deputy Commissioner’s chairmanship to review overloading cases Weekly

Later, addressing the media persons after the meeting, Sh. Mool Chand Sharma said that a total of 14 complaints were presented in the meeting, of which 9 were resolved on the spot. The remaining complaints have been deferred to the next meeting with necessary instructions for resolution. He said that strict directives have been issued regarding overloading. Ensuring the safety of citizens’ lives and property is the government’s responsibility. He further shared that a committee would be formed under the Deputy Commissioner’s chairmanship to review overloading cases weekly.

Mool Chand Sharma said that there is immense potential for establishing industries in the Dadri region and that action would be initiated upon the availability of suitable land. All formalities will be completed to accelerate development in the Dadri region.

MLA Sombir Sangwan, Deputy Commissioner Mandeep Kaur, and other committee members also attended the meeting.
