Announces Construction of Operation Theatre Worth ₹80 Lakh at Kondagaon District Hospital
Directs Officials to Ensure Better Healthcare Facilities for Citizens
Raipur, Aug 2025 : State Minister for Public Health & Family Welfare and Medical Education, Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, conducted a surprise inspection of the District Hospital in Kondagaon and the Community Health Center in Farsgaon during his visit to Kondagaon district today. During the inspection, Health Minister Shri Jaiswal interacted with patients to inquire about their well-being and took feedback regarding the medical facilities being provided at these institutions.
He instructed health department officials to ensure that all patients visiting these hospitals receive quality medical treatment. On this occasion, Shri Jaiswal announced the construction of a new Operation Theatre at Kondagaon District Hospital at an estimated cost of ₹80 lakh to further enhance healthcare services in the district.
He emphasized that providing quality healthcare to the citizens of the state remains a top priority of the government.
During the inspection, he was accompanied by Bastar Development Authority Vice-Chairperson and local MLA Ms. Lata Usendi, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Medical Services Corporation Limited Shri Deepak Mhaskey, Health Secretary Shri Amit Kataria, and District Collector Ms. Nupur Rashi Panna.
Health Minister Shri Jaiswal inspected various sections of the district hospital, including the Emergency Medical Room, Major Operation Theatre Ward, and Surgical Ward. He reviewed the availability of facilities, medicines, cleanliness, patient meals, medical staff, and other necessary aspects.
While reviewing the progress of ongoing repair works at the hospital, he directed CGMSC officials to submit a progress report within a week. Considering the increasing patient inflow, he instructed officials to increase the number of hospital beds and expedite the construction of the new operation theatre.
Later, he visited the Maternal and Child Health Hospital to inspect the Obstetrics and Gynecology department’s sonography room. He gathered information about its functioning and instructed necessary arrangements for systematic sonography services.
Furthermore, he directed district authorities to expedite the recruitment process to fill vacancies in hospital staff at the district level. He also assured that recruitment for the remaining positions would be carried out at the state level to address staff shortages effectively.
