MLA Lt. Col. Clement Lalhmingthanga Holds Meeting on Mizo Territorial Army (MTA) Formation

Aizawl, Aug 2025: A meeting regarding the establishment of the Mizo Territorial Army (MTA) was held at the Secretariat Conference Hall, MINECO, under the chairmanship of MLA Lt. Col. Clement Lalhmingthanga.

The meeting discussed the procedures for forming the MTA and the necessary preparations. It was informed that the headquarters for the MTA will be set up at Bung Bangla, which is currently being developed and arranged meticulously. Recruitment for the MTA is planned to be conducted in November this year, with plans to establish two (2) Mizo Companies as the initial step.

Officials from the Home Department, Finance Department, Sainik Welfare & Resettlement, Land Revenue & Settlement, PWD, PHE, Power & Electricity, Information & Public Relations (I&PR), General Administration Department (GAD), and Mizoram Youth Commission (MYC) were present in today’s meeting.
