Two Sisters Give Brother a Unique Gift of Safety: Tied Rakhi and Placed a Helmet

Raipur, Aug 2025 : On the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan, an inspiring example was set in Paraswani village of Gundardehi block, Balod district, Chhattisgarh. Sisters Mamta Yadav and Madhuri Yadav visited their brother Vinod Yadav’s home and, along with tying the traditional rakhi, took a pledge for his safety.

Inspired by the helmet awareness campaign recently launched by the Balod district administration, the sisters not only tied rakhi on their brother’s wrist but also placed a helmet on his head, calling it a special gift of protection for Raksha Bandhan.

The sisters said that road accidents often result in serious injuries and deaths due to not wearing helmets. “When we wish for our brother’s long life, we must also take concrete steps to ensure his safety,” they said.

Vinod Yadav shared that he had been injured in a road accident some time ago when he wasn’t wearing a helmet, leading to serious head and eye injuries. “Now I realize that a helmet can save lives. By giving me this precious gift, my sisters have not only cared for my safety but also inspired me to wear a helmet always,” he said. He appealed to all vehicle riders to follow the district administration’s helmet awareness campaign and never ride a two-wheeler without wearing a helmet.
