Mann Government Accepts Farmers’ Demand, Withdraws Land Pooling Policy

Chandigarh, Aug 2025The Aam Aadmi Party’s Punjab government has always been a farmers’ government, prioritising farmers’ interests from the very beginning. Whether it was farm loan waivers, fighting for better crop prices, expanding irrigation facilities, or providing relief in electricity bills — every step has been taken with the farmers’ welfare in mind. In line with this approach, the Land Pooling Policy 2025 was introduced to make farmers direct partners in development, increase the value of their land many times over, and connect them with modern facilities.

However, the Punjab government believes that development is truly meaningful only when farmers are happy and satisfied. If there is disagreement among farmers regarding a policy, enforcing it forcibly would go against public interest and the principles of democracy. For this reason, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, the government has made a major and historic decision to withdraw the Land Pooling Policy, placing the farmers’ opinion above all else.

This step proves that for the Punjab government, farmers are not just voters, but a part of the family. When any family member is dissatisfied, true service and sensitive leadership lie in listening to them and changing decisions accordingly. The government has shown that it practices politics based on trust and partnership, not stubbornness.

The clear message behind this decision is that every farmer in Punjab can rest assured — their land, their rights, and the fruits of their hard work are fully protected. The government will not implement any scheme without the farmers’ consent and participation. This is not merely the withdrawal of a policy, but a renewed commitment to strengthen the bond of trust, respect, and partnership with the farming community.

The Mann government has once again proven that the true essence of Punjabiyat lies in protecting its soil, its labour, and its pride. Farmers’ prosperity is Punjab’s prosperity, and that is the government’s greatest goal.
