Fast and Modern Travel Facility from Jalgaon to Pune; Prime Minister Flags Off Nagpur–Pune Vande Bharat Express
Grand welcome for Vande Bharat train at Bhusawal and Jalgaon railway stations
Jalgaon, Aug 2025 :Today marked a historic moment for passengers from Jalgaon, as well as from Vidarbha, Khandesh, and Western Maharashtra, with the launch of a fast, comfortable, and modern travel service to Pune. Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the Nagpur–Pune Vande Bharat Express via video conferencing. Since both Bhusawal and Jalgaon stations are on the train’s route, passengers from the district will directly benefit from this service.
The train was welcomed with great enthusiasm at Bhusawal and Jalgaon railway stations. At Bhusawal, Union Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Mrs. Raksha Khadse, Water Resources Minister Girish Mahajan, Textile Minister Sanjay Savkare, Public Works Minister Shivendraraje Bhosale, and District Collector Ayush Prasad flagged off the train. At Jalgaon, Members of Parliament Ujwal Nikam and Smita Wagh, along with MLA Suresh (Rajiv Mama) Bhole, performed the flag-off. The event created a sense of excitement among citizens in the district.
From platform number 8 of Nagpur Central Railway Station, in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister for Road Transport Nitin Gadkari, MLAs Mohan Mate, Krishna Khopde, Praveen Datke, Central Railway General Manager Dharmveer Meena, and Divisional Railway Manager Vinayak Garg, Prime Minister Modi also simultaneously launched the Bengaluru–Belagavi and Katra–Amritsar Vande Bharat Express trains.
With the Nagpur (Ajni)–Pune Vande Bharat Express, the journey will be completed in about 12 hours. The train will halt at Wardha, Badnera, Akola, Bhusawal, Jalgaon, Manmad, Kopargaon, Ahmednagar, and Daund before reaching Pune. Stations were decorated with flower garlands and flags, and large crowds of passengers, students, and citizens gathered. Essay and drawing competitions were organized in local schools, with prizes presented by dignitaries. Patriotic cultural performances added to the festive atmosphere.
Chief Minister Fadnavis mentioned that efforts are underway to develop a direct Nagar–Pune rail route to avoid the current extra 100–125 km detour via Daund. This project, considered under the ‘Right of Way’ plan, could help rapidly develop the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar–Ahmednagar–Pune industrial corridor.
The Pune–Ajni Vande Bharat Express will begin regular service on August 11, 2025. Train No. 26101 will depart from Pune at 6:25 a.m. six days a week (except Tuesday) and arrive at Ajni at 6:25 p.m. the same day. Train No. 26102 will depart from Ajni at 9:50 a.m. six days a week (except Monday) and reach Pune at 9:50 p.m. the same day. The train has 1 Executive Chair Car (EC) and 7 Chair Cars (CC), all fully air-conditioned with automatic climate control, ergonomic seating, large panoramic windows, bio-vacuum toilets, automatic sliding doors, CCTV surveillance, an emergency communication system, and dual suspension.
Manufactured under the ‘Make in India’ initiative, this Vande Bharat train is a symbol of India’s advanced technology and self-reliance, serving as a key pillar of the ‘Ek Bharat, Connected Bharat’ vision.
