₹3,900 Crore Crop Insurance Claims Paid to 35 Lakh Farmers Nationwide; Jaipur Farmers Receive ₹96 Crore

Jaipur, Aug 2025 – Under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, a claims disbursement program was held on Monday at Jhunjhunu Airstrip under the chairmanship of Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan, with Rajasthan Chief Minister Mr. Bhajanlal Sharma as the chief guest, and Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Mr. Bhagirath Choudhary and State Agriculture Minister Dr. Kirori Lal Meena as special guests.

During the event, the Union Agriculture Minister pressed a button to transfer ₹3,900 crore in insurance claim payments via the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system to 35 lakh farmers across the country whose crops were damaged.

Through video conferencing, the program was also organized at the Jaipur Collectorate auditorium under the chairmanship of nodal officer and Additional District Collector (City North) Mr. Mukesh Mund. He informed that for the Kharif 2024 crop loss, ₹80 crore was paid via DBT to 1,46,944 affected farmers in Jaipur district. For the Rabi 2024 crop loss, ₹16 crore was paid via DBT to 1,17,924 farmers. In total, 2,64,868 farmers in Jaipur district received ₹96 crore in claims.

The occasion was attended by Joint Director of Agriculture Extension Mr. Kailash Chand Meena, Deputy Director of Horticulture Mr. Harlal Singh Bijarnia, ATMA Project Director (Jaipur) Mr. Bhagwan Sahay Yadav, and farmers.
