Collector Directs Meticulous Preparations for Jaipur’s District-Level Independence Day Celebration
Jaipur, Aug 2025 – District Collector Dr. Jitendra Kumar Soni has assigned responsibilities to officials to ensure that preparations for the district-level Independence Day celebrations are completed on time and to high standards, making the event grand, dignified, and inspiring. On August 15, Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Premchand Bairwa will hoist the national flag and take the salute at the parade. On this occasion, outstanding officials, employees, and citizens will also be felicitated.
In a review meeting held on Monday at the Collectorate Auditorium, Dr. Soni instructed all departmental officers to complete all arrangements within the stipulated timeline. He emphasized coordinated planning for the main event at Chaugan Stadium, covering stage setup, sound systems, traffic and parking management, security, invitation distribution, cultural programs, seating for children, drinking water, and medical facilities.
The Collector directed officials to ensure lighting, rangoli, decorations, and cleanliness, along with rehearsals for all scheduled programs. He instructed that dignitaries, including public representatives, ex-servicemen, war widows, distinguished athletes, folk artists, journalists, and representatives from social and religious fields, be invited with due respect.
He stressed that cultural performances should reflect patriotism, social unity, and Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage, inspiring a stronger sense of national pride. Officials were also told to encourage public participation through wide publicity and to promote the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, ensuring maximum display of the national flag at homes, establishments, and institutions.
Dr. Soni noted that Jaipur, as Rajasthan’s capital and a UNESCO World Heritage City, is renowned for its historical and cultural heritage, and the Independence Day celebration should reflect this prestige.
The meeting was attended by Police Commissioner Mr. Karan Sharma, Additional District Collectors Mr. Gopal Singh Shekhawat (East), Mr. Ashish Kumar (Second), Mr. Devendra Kumar Jain (Fourth), Mr. Mukesh Kumar Mund (North), and officials from JDA, Municipal Corporation, PHED, Education, Medical & Health, Transport, Electricity, Food & Civil Supplies, Social Justice & Empowerment, and other departments.
