Under CM Bhajanlal Sharma’s Leadership, Urban Development Reaches New Heights

Fountain Square Park – A Unique Blend of Ancient and Modern Architecture in Rajasthan

Jaipur, Aug 2025 : Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, the Rajasthan government has been consistently working in the field of urban development, taking it to new heights. Urban development in the state today represents a unique fusion of modern aesthetics, cultural expression, and public convenience.

In the capital city Jaipur, this new phase of development beautifully combines the region’s traditional and cultural identity with modern infrastructure. As part of this vision, the state government has gifted citizens the Fountain Square Project, an unforgettable urban landmark.

Situated in Jaipur’s Mansarovar area, between VT Road and Aravali Marg and adjacent to the lush City Park, this world-class project spreads across 16 bighas (40,000 sq. meters). At its heart lies a grand musical fountain, which narrates stories of Rajasthani culture through mesmerizing 3D imagery and laser shows on water screens. The site also features two amphitheaters. Constructed at a cost of ₹40 crore, the project is not only an artistic creation but also a benchmark in urban infrastructure.

A Celebration of Art, Light, and Water

At the center of this project stands the Central Musical Fountain, which, every evening from 7 to 8 PM, draws tourists and locals alike with its captivating combination of music, light, and laser storytelling. Through dazzling 3D water projections, the fountain narrates tales of Rajasthan’s vibrant culture.

The fountain is encircled by four white marble lion statues, symbolizing strength and pride. Artistic chhatris made of Dholpur stone and finely designed arches lend a regal aura to the venue. Atop a raised platform, a small English-style fountain offers a glimpse of European aesthetics, creating a seamless blend of tradition and modernity.

Exhibition Ground and Amphitheaters with Modern Facilities

Adjacent to Fountain Square is a sprawling Exhibition Ground covering 9,000 sq. meters. It includes a grand stage, landscaped greens, seating for 550 people, reception areas, office space, lockers, and restrooms. Special green rooms for artists have also been built to enhance performance experiences.

The architectural planning focuses on enhancing the overall visitor experience. The site includes two amphitheaters, each accommodating 500 people. Additionally, the premises offer separate modern restrooms for men and women, a food court, children’s play area, ample parking space, and well-designed ticket counters, ensuring comfort and convenience for visitors of all age groups.

A Model of Sustainable Development

In line with the state’s commitment to long-term development, a dedicated 2.0 MLD sewage treatment plant (STP) has been constructed at the site. Treated greywater from this facility is used to irrigate both Fountain Square and the adjoining City Park.

Both Fountain Square and the Exhibition Ground stand as fine examples of engineering excellence, equipped with modern earthquake-resistant and fire safety systems.

Recently, this ambitious project was also honored by the Indian Building Congress. Initiatives like these demonstrate how, under the leadership of the Chief Minister, Rajasthan is steadily becoming a modern yet culturally rich state through innovative urban planning and development.
