Patients Receiving Strong Support from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for Treatment!
₹23 lakh distributed to 30 patients for medical treatment
Aug 2025 : To ensure that common citizens in the state can lead a healthy life, a Chief Minister’s Medical Assistance Cell has been set up under the guidance of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. This cell has been established in every District Collector’s office to provide financial support for the treatment of poor and needy patients. Often, due to financial constraints, patients or their families are unable to seek timely treatment. The Chief Minister initiated this cell so that no patient is deprived of medical care due to lack of money and lives can be saved through timely treatment.
Through the Chief Minister’s Medical Assistance Scheme, poor and needy patients – and by extension their families – are receiving vital support. In today’s times, living a healthy life often comes with challenges. Families may suddenly face a serious illness or accident, leaving them devastated. In such situations, the CM Relief Fund provides great relief to both patients and their families.
This initiative especially helps economically weaker sections of society by providing financial assistance for the treatment of serious illnesses. From May 1, 2025, patients no longer need to travel to Mumbai for help, as CM Relief Fund and Charitable Hospital Cells have been set up in every district. Patients can now apply for financial aid in their own districts and even track the status of their applications through the district cell.
At Hingoli, the CM Relief Fund Cell is operational in the District Collector’s office premises, under the supervision of Dr. Namdeo Korde. Through this cell, 30 patients in the district have received assistance amounting to ₹23 lakh in the past three months, according to the Hingoli CM Relief Fund and Charitable Hospital Cell.
One such beneficiary is Shamrao Kishanrao Suryawanshi, a farmer from Shewala (Taluka Kalamnuri), Hingoli district. On June 23, 2025, at around 6:30 p.m., while returning home from the fields along with his brother and son, he was hit from behind by a speeding two-wheeler. He suffered injuries to his head and leg. With limited financial resources, the family faced great difficulties. He was admitted to Tukamai Hospital in Nanded for treatment, where surgery was performed on his leg.
However, the next day he began rambling incoherently, and further tests revealed a serious head injury. He was then shifted to Yashosai Hospital for advanced treatment. It was here that the family learned about the CM Medical Assistance Cell. His son, Avinash, applied at the Hingoli Cell and the family received ₹70,000 as assistance.
Avinash expressed deep gratitude to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and the state government, saying that with only two acres of farmland sustaining their household, survival itself was a daily struggle – but this government initiative saved his father’s life. He added with relief that his father is now recovering at home under medication and will soon return to his normal daily life.
This scheme is proving to be a ray of hope for many needy and eligible beneficiaries, ensuring that financial aid reaches those in dire need of medical care.
